Laurie Tisch Honored by the Museum of the City of New York as a Gotham Icon

On June 17, Laurie Tisch was honored by the Museum of the City of New York for her visionary philanthropy and civic leadership at the annual Gotham Dreams Gala.

The evening celebrated the people and institutions that help make New York the city of dreams. Laurie joined fellow honorees Alex Rodriguez and Ja Rule on stage with MCNY’s board chair Matt Brown for a lively conversation about what they love most about New York and the opportunities it creates for so many. Kathryn Wylde was also recognized with a well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Gotham Dreams Gala highlighted Another Wonderland, the exhibition featuring Abram Champanier’s extraordinary mural cycle from NYC Health + Hospitals. The exhibition reflects the power of art to strengthen communities and improve lives, values that are at the heart of the Fund’s Arts in Health initiative and its longstanding partnership with Arts in Medicine at NYC Health + Hospitals.
