David Rockwell and Paul Goldberger discuss Why Design Matters
DateJune 11, 2012
Architect David Rockwell, the Founder and CEO of Rockwell Group, joined Paul Goldberger, a Contributing Editor at Vanity Fair and author of Why Architecture Matters, for the Aspen Institute’s June 6 Leadership Series in memory of Preston Robert Tisch. Rockwell spoke about the role and influence of theater in his architecture, and the ways in which the energy of New York’s street life inspires his work. He and Goldberger also highlighted Rockwell’s innovative “Imagination Playground”, a pro bono project that enables children to reconfigure a playground’s design through unstructured free play. The event took place at Hunter College’s Roosevelt House, and is part of the Leadership Series sponsored by Steve Tisch, Lizzie and Jonathan Tisch, and the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund.
