Overview
The New Fund for Cinema and Television (NFCT) is an Israeli nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that provides financial and professional support to filmmakers for the production of documentary and narrative films. NFCT runs a number of film development hubs, including two programs that focus on women filmmakers, highlighting women’s voices about their own communities and realities and increasing understanding and tolerance towards women and minorities.

Purpose: To support the WomanFilms Documentary Film Hub (formerly Greenhouse Program for Jewish and Arab Women Documentary Filmmakers)
Since 2014, the WomanFilms Documentary Film Hub has brought together nine talented female filmmakers from diverse religious, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, and supports them in the development of compelling documentaries that amplify women’s voices about their own communities and realities, while documenting important contemporary and social issues. The filmmakers participate in three 5-day workshops spanning a period of eight months The participants are enriched by the cross-cultural dialogue, cooperation and community building fostered through the program, which profoundly influence their work.
In 2020, the Greenhouse Program was renamed the WomanFilms Documentary Film Hub.
Impact
To date there have been eight cycles of the WomanFilms Documentary Film Hub, and 14 films have been successfully completed, with many more in various stages of production. These films participated in international festivals, were broadcast on TV, and are often used for educational purposes. A growing community of filmmakers includes 83 talented artists who have graduated the program.
