May – October 2009
The work of Artistic Noise in now on view at the foundation through October 2009. Artistic Noise (formerly H.U.M.A.N. – Hear Us Make Artistic Noise) is a small arts and entrepreneurship program that works with youth involved in the juvenile justice system and was founded in Boston, MA in 2001.
Using the Boston program as a model Artistic Noise in New York City concentrates on building teens’ strengths, improving their ties to community programs and empowering them to advocate for themselves. Artistic Noise focuses on both the individual artist and the possibilities art collaboration creates to initiate dialogue about issues regarding youth involved in the juvenile justice system and beyond.
