At a November 15 ceremony attended by 250 New York City leaders in public health from public, private, and nonprofit sectors, Laurie M. Tisch was honored with the Special Merit in Public Health Award for her work through the Illumination Fund with the NYC Green Cart Initiative. In her remarks, she shared her reasons for funding the NYC Green Cart Initiative. “There are vast disparities in diet-related diseases across neighborhoods.
