Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom
Area of Work: Civic
Grant Purpose: New York chapters
The mission of Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom is to build trust, respect, and relationships between American and Canadian Muslim and Jewish women and teenage girls. Together, the women commit to end acts of anti-Jewish and anti-Muslim sentiment, stand up for one another when hate is aimed at their communities, and engage in social action work.
Purpose: To support the organization’s main activity around the Sisterhood Chapters throughout the United States, Canada, and even England.
Co-led by a Jewish and Muslim woman, Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom’s chapters are a space and community for interfaith exchange and partnership. Currently, there are 170 chapters, not including the newly launched teen chapters across North America.
