On May 21, The Children’s Museum of Manhattan (CMOM), along with over 350 supporters, celebrated its success as an institution offering all children the intellectual, emotional, physical and social skills they need to thrive.
Laurie M. Tisch spoke about her ongoing commitment to CMOM and presented the inaugural Laurie M. Tisch Award to accomplished artist Sarah Sze and renowned cancer researcher, physician and author Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee. Honoring these two leaders in the arts and health mirrors CMOM’s pioneering work to connect the two fields on a national level.
CMOM’s Board Chair halley k harrisburg, Executive Director Andy Ackerman, and Head Start’s Dawn White shared moving remarks about CMOM’s impact. The Corporate Leadership Award was presented to Rick Woldenberg of Learning Resources, and Shiba Russell from WNBC closed out the night by auctioning deluxe Super Bowl packages, which, coupled with a raffle and ticket sales, raised more than $800,000 for the Museum.
